Cho

Cho is a passionate logistics and operations specialist with over nine years of experience working at the crossroads of language, technology and social justice in Southeast Asia. A graduate of Dagon University with a B.A. in English Language and Literature, she is committed to creating safer, more inclusive digital spaces where communities feel empowered, protected and heard – especially those whose voices are too often left on the margins. Before joining APC, Cho designed and delivered capacity-building initiatives across Myanmar that addressed hate speech, defamation, digital security, privacy and the gendered dimensions of online expression. These programmes equipped youth leaders, journalists and human rights defenders with the skills to think critically, stay safe, and shape the digital world around them. She also led a regional platform to counter hate speech, using memes and digital humour to overturn toxic narratives and foster online resilience. Cho believes memes can serve as a form of resistance – creative tools for challenging harmful discourse. Combining linguistic insight with deep digital literacy, she excels at translating complex digital security concepts into clear, locally meaningful resources that truly resonate with communities. You’ll find Cho doing one of three things (often at once): coordinating events, crafting digital safety resources, or dropping the perfect meme to shift the narrative. Her goal? A brighter, kinder digital world – crafted with care, strategy and a well-timed dose of humor.
